As a retired military veteran referred to this clinic through VA Community Care, I came to Carolina TMJ Solutions expecting a high level of specialized care for a complex history of jaw surgeries and service-connected issues. Instead, I experienced a dismissive, "one-size-fits-all" approach and a complete lack of individualized medical management. During my initial consultation, I thoroughly explained my extensive military dental and surgical history, and I arranged to provide them with my actual records for review. Weeks went by. At my April appointment, I reported that my symptoms were not improving. When I asked if they had looked at my records to ensure the oral appliance wouldn't negatively impact my prior surgeries, the specialist admitted they hadn't. He promised to review them and call me if he had any questions. That phone call never came. At my final appointment, I had to bring it up again. I firmly stated that I would not continue treatment until someone actually reviewed my history and created a personalized plan for my situation. I have been suffering from TMJ for a while. I was referred to Carolina TMJ. My situation and treatment plan was different than normal plans of treatment. At first I was skeptical if the treatment was going to work. I have noticed vast improvement regarding the TMJ. I would definitely recommend Carolina TMJ & Sleep Solutions. Everyone is so nice.

The staff here is beyond accommodating and professional. Marina and Candace are the sweetest and Dr Van Gurp is very knowledgeable! I came to them with severe TMJ issues and pain that I had been dealing with for years . By their recommendations and treatment, I am completely fine now! I would and have recommended them to anyone dealing with TMJ or sleep apnea issues!

When I finally decided to deal with my snoring I started searching around google and found Carolina TMJ. Originally I thought I was signing myself up for a cpap machine. Little did I know they used night guards. The night guards have completely helped! I am no longer snoring, getting way better quality of sleep, and no longer grinding my teeth. It was even better because I’m only wearing night guards and never even needed a machine/mask, Dr. Van Gurp and his staff are amazing people to work with and helped me figure out my snoring problems in a hurry. Highly recommend and they are great group to work with.
